Secretary of State Marco Rubio is participating in meetings today at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week in New York City, New York.
The State Department Principle Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott said, “Secretary Rubio will meet with key counterparts to discuss shared security interests, bringing peace to conflicts, and mutual cooperation.“
The spokesperson continued, “The Secretary will use High-Level Week as an opportunity to discuss the need for the UN to get back to basics, reorienting the organization to its origins as an effective tool for advancing peace, not a bloated bureaucracy that compromises national sovereignty and pushes destructive ideologies like DEI.“
